Wishbone Ash - Argus 50th Anniversary Box Set - Comments
The following comments on the box set so far:
-
All tracks on the Live at Alexandra Palace CD are credited to
Turner, Upton, Turner, Powell.
However the track Baby What You Want Me to Do is actually by Jimmy Reed.
This can be counted as a typo.
-
Dr. John, the archivist supreme, has been altogether forgotten from the CDs and the book:
-
The four Argus Demo tracks were found and introduced by Dr. John. No mention on the CD or book.
-
The full Live in Memphis gig was dug up by Dr. John. No mention on the CD or book.
-
The book briefly tells about First Light, the early acetate that was recorded at Advision studios which Dr. John found and made available to the band. This is what the book says: "... The Advision tracks were discovered, exhumed and issued...".
No credit to Dr. John, anywhere in the book.
A bit sad, in my opinion.
