With twelve years of touring and twelve albums to their credit, including the brilliant "ARGUS" lp, the creators and implementors of the "TWIN HARMONY GUITAR" sound are to be found here doing what they do best, hot licks with a lot of tricks.
The original band, Andy Powell, Steve Upton, Martin Turner and Ted Turner (no relation to Martin), started the ball rolling and the birth of the dual lead guitar sound in 1969. In 1975, for personal reasons, Ted left the band and Laurie Wisefield was named to fill his shoes on guitar and that he did.
Tighter and stronger than ever, the band continued on, cutting another six albums and touring heavily throuhout the world.
In 1981, Martin Turner, left the band to pursue a producing career and for the album "Number The Brave" John Wetton filled in on bass. Later on, Trevor Bolder, of David Bowie and Uriah Heep fame, joined the band as Turner's replacement.
The album that you are presently holding in your hands is what I consider to be some of the finest moments from Wishbone's past, captured live from various parts of England.
Being a fan and friend of the band from the beginning, it gives me great honor to have been able to put this album together for you, their fans. I hope you enjoy the magic and music of "Hot Ash" as much as I.
